 What is the problem?

Is there systemic racism? Yes, because there is systemic sin.


Sin is endemically embedded in all human structures. Sin does all it can to twist and distort the Image of God from every angle it can. And, the culture war is evidence that it is succeeding and doing its best to divide what Jesus Christ has united in Himself.


The identity that Jesus Christ gives to any and all who will believe Him and follow Him in the Holy Spirit's power is not based in ethnic or cultural background. It's not based on economics or class struggle. It not based in nationality or language. That singular identity given to a follower of Jesus is not based on denominational affiliation, education, skin hue, country of origin, or a DNA swab. The only ground for identification for a Christian is the person of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Himself. He alone restores people to become fully human once more by His grace, a gift given so we can believe and follow Him.


The issue that continually divides human beings is sin, not skin. If you know that you have really been forgiven and that Jesus Christ loves every other human being as much as He loves you, human categories of evaluation human worth become worthless. Who He makes of you as His new creation is all that matters.


That makes working for true justice much more simple. It means bringing the Kingdom of God to bear, pushing back the kingdom of darkness that has the world enthralled in deception. God is actually infinitely more than we could ever desire or imagine. His life being lived within you IS the difference between life and mere existence.

The Psalmist is acknowledging that life in all its fullness, the life God intends for us to live out here on earth is only found by God’s pursuit of us, His turning to us that we might turn to Him.  UNDERSTANDING GOD'S MERCY Matthew 13:58 “ And so He did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.” I have heard it said that somehow the power of the Holy Spirit working in and through the Lord Jesus Christ was somehow limited by the unbelief of the folks in His hometown of Nazareth. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Nothing limits the power of God nor His grace give to sinners to redeem, heal, and restore them to God. What we see is the mercy of God towards broken people.
