Psalm 31:15

“My times are in Your Hand. Rescue me…”

At conception, our lives have a beginning here on earth. We also have an ending, the moment our physical bodies die. And so it is, that God has our “times” in His Hands. Each moment, every breath and heartbeat of each and every day are known to Him. The Lord God sees the end from the beginning as He stands outside time in eternity. Only He knows what each day will bring. He alone knows our lives with absolute certainty, intimacy, and understanding.

God know that we need Him if we hope to become fully human. He knows and wants us to understand that we are not sufficient in ourselves to think of anything as having come from ourselves. Innate gifts, talents and abilities have been given to us by God. He is the One who gives us time for those things to develop and flourish. Understanding that “our times” are in His Hands, rather than somehow feel like we are a burden to God, we can let go, trust in Him completely for each day, each moment, today and what lies ahead in the future. As Peter wrote, “Cast you cares upon Him, for He cares for you.”

As a branch draws all of its life from the vine it is attached to, in the same way, Jesus wants us to realize that it is by His doing that we “bide” in Him. We make our home, our place of abiding in Him because He has united us to Himself and it is by His life within us that we are kept in that union. Scripture states that salvation is of the Lord. We can add nothing to what God has completed. Ours is to believe what He has already done for us in Christ Jesus and rest in confidence that He has “our times in His Hands.” Our responsibility is to be responsive to His ability to finish in us that which He has begun.

If God Almighty has your “times” in His Hands, if God knows all things even before they occur, the only place of safety and security in in Him. When we surrender to His power, love, and grace in Jesus Christ, God begins to rule in us. His Kingdom gets established in us. In the power of the Holy Spirit, He begins to live His life in us to guide us as He restores us to wholeness. He empowers our obedience and strengthens our confidence, our faith in Him. You are secure in Him. He will rescue you.

HIS POWER...HIS PROMISE Helping people walk in the Spirit the devotional below is seminal! The devotion below is today from Oswald Chambers. I makes me think of some I have known that have assumed that the Lord doesn’t want them empowered by the Holy Spirit or that He won’t manifest Himself in them because they have reasoned otherwise. Given ministry opportunities to have the Holy Spirit confirm the Word of God with demonstration of the Holy Spirit and power, they rely on how they feel, their experience thus far and not on the reality that the will of God in mission and ministry is either done in the Holy Spirit’s Power or not at all. Our capacity to do what Jesus does has nothing to do with our imagined capacity, but upon the indwelling power of God through is. Now to Him who is able to do far above and beyond what we could ever imagine or think, by His power at work in us now, to Him be glory…   Matthew 25:14-30 Jesus told the parable of the bags of gold as a warning ...
HE IS RISEN! IT IS FINISHED! After the Israelites had passed through the Red Sea by God opening the way for them to be saved, the whole of Pharoah's army, his horsemen and chariots pursued God's people into the opened way. Once they were all in, the waters flowed back into their place with suddenness and fury. Not one of the enemies survived. All perished in those waters. When Jesus Christ hung on the cross, all that sin contained, the full measure of the rebellion of mankind for all time, all the wickedness that was ever in human hearts were absorbed into the Lamb of God as He died our death, received our just judgement from God for all time, taking all that sin and death contained. In Him, sin and death died once and for all. They were overwhelmed, covered and drowned in the sea of His precious blood, poured out for the sin of the whole world. Not one enemy remained alive, all were stripped of their power to hold us in slavery to sin any longer. All their weapons were confis...
INFINITELY MORE Ephesians 3:20-21 " Now all glory to God, Who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.   Glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen." In the Gospel of John, many of His followers turned away because of the covenant commitment He required of those who would follow Him. That covenant declared that what was to happen to Jesus would also happen to them. We, too, must lay our lives down and choose the will and way of God's Kingdom over all else. Those in the crowd knew that in Jerusalem, the Jewish religious leaders were plotting and planning Jesus' destruction. To follow Jesus to that degree required denying self and the thrall of the world and its ways, even to the point of laying one's life down by refusing to deny the Lord and His salvation. Jesus turned to the 12 and asked, " Are you also going to leave?" ( John 6:67-...
