 WHAT WILL YOU DO

Romans 1:18-20, 28-32
"But God shows His anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because He has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature. So, they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, He abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too."

This is a description of the deceived world of the first century and of our deceived world today. Humanity has not evolved out of spiritual deadness. What is dead can never hope to change itself; ever. Left to itself, humanity yields to the lord of the flies over and over again. Satan is called Beelzebub, which actually means, "lord of the flies" as "beel or baal" means "lord" and "zebub" is semantic for "fly". People have suppressed the truth about God by wickedness believing they can cause life to have meaning and purpose without any reference to God. But God has not left Himself without witness to Who He is and what He has done to redeem humanity from its wickedness and death and to deliver us into Eternal Life through Jesus Christ.

The scientist who mapped the human genome turned from atheism to putting his faith and trust in Jesus Christ because he saw the complexity, the overwhelming evidence of intelligent design pointing to the Eternal God, the Designer, the Creator of the universe and all that is in it and to Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God through Whom it was all made.

John 1:1-5, 14
"In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through Him, and nothing was created except through Him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
So, the Word became flesh and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son."

It is through Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son of God, that all things have been made. He holds all things together through the Power and Authority of His Word. The intricate balance of all things on this planet in atmospheric composition, gravitational hold and other scientifically measured phenomena show that all these things are held in the exact balance so that life might exist on earth.

Wholeness of life will never be found let alone lived in and experienced apart from believing and receiving Life from God through Jesus Christ. There is hope for all who are still "crawling in the darkness, looking for an answer" and it is found when a person turns from pursuing self and sin and turns to God for forgiveness, restoration of their humanity; a new heart and a new spirit with God's power to live a new life, a new way. Time is running short for people to turn, for when Jesus Christ returns to earth to judge the living and the dead, the opportunity to be born anew will have past forever. Please don't wait, resisting in mockery and folly. Turn to God and be made new and alive again.

HEARING MUST BE UNITED TO BELIEVING Hebrews 3:16-19 “And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard His voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt? And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness? And to whom was God speaking when He took an oath that they would never enter His rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed Him? So, we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter His rest.” I have heard people say, “If I heard the voice of God. I would not rebel; I’d believe.” Others have said, “If I saw a miracle, I’d believe.” We really do not have a grip on the capacity for unbelief that is resident in the human heart and mind. The children of Israel saw God decimate the false gods of Egypt in the plagues He sent through Moses. The Lord God who had called Abraham made sure that Abraham’s children saw that the gods and religious culture surrounding them for 400 years were not gods at all...
HIS POWER...HIS PROMISE Helping people walk in the Spirit the devotional below is seminal! The devotion below is today from Oswald Chambers. I makes me think of some I have known that have assumed that the Lord doesn’t want them empowered by the Holy Spirit or that He won’t manifest Himself in them because they have reasoned otherwise. Given ministry opportunities to have the Holy Spirit confirm the Word of God with demonstration of the Holy Spirit and power, they rely on how they feel, their experience thus far and not on the reality that the will of God in mission and ministry is either done in the Holy Spirit’s Power or not at all. Our capacity to do what Jesus does has nothing to do with our imagined capacity, but upon the indwelling power of God through is. Now to Him who is able to do far above and beyond what we could ever imagine or think, by His power at work in us now, to Him be glory…   Matthew 25:14-30 Jesus told the parable of the bags of gold as a warning ...
INFINITELY MORE Ephesians 3:20-21 " Now all glory to God, Who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.   Glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen." In the Gospel of John, many of His followers turned away because of the covenant commitment He required of those who would follow Him. That covenant declared that what was to happen to Jesus would also happen to them. We, too, must lay our lives down and choose the will and way of God's Kingdom over all else. Those in the crowd knew that in Jerusalem, the Jewish religious leaders were plotting and planning Jesus' destruction. To follow Jesus to that degree required denying self and the thrall of the world and its ways, even to the point of laying one's life down by refusing to deny the Lord and His salvation. Jesus turned to the 12 and asked, " Are you also going to leave?" ( John 6:67-...
