 TRUST

Psalm 25:15-18
"My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only He will release my feet from the snare. Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish. Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins."

King David learned and embraced the Truth that God alone can save, redeem, rescue and restore us from those things stronger than we are. Sin is a tyrant and a cheat, promising to comfort and sustain when it is a thief, a torturer and a slaughterer.

Understanding that salvation, human flourishing, wholeness of life, clear direction, true comfort and goodness only come from God is what Holy Scripture calls "the fear of the Lord." Nothing in this world can satisfy the longing for home, identity, and peace but the Lord Jesus. He alone has done for humanity that which humanity could never approach by human effort or prowess.

Only Jesus Christ can take that which is essentially, spiritually dead and make it live anew. And not like the resuscitation of a corpse, but raised to a new life, a new creation, alive with the very Life of God being lived in the rescued believer.

Life change comes and life transformation results because God begins a heaven-initiated good work within the one who believes God, trusting in His sovereign ability to save and restore. Life change is evidence that New Life now resides in a person.

Proverbs 3:5-8
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Trust the Lord and He will give you success. Respect the Lord and refuse to do wrong. Then your body will be healthy and strong."

God alone gives salvation. God alone empowers us to obediently follow Him and to rely on Him in every and all circumstances. Like King David, we learn to follow by following, to believe God because God cannot lie. What He has spoken will take place. When God speaks into our lives, what He speaks is created in us and will come to pass.

We wait expectantly on the Lord because He has made it clear that we are to be conformed to the Image of His eternal Son, Jesus Christ. Call out to Him and surrender all that weighs on you, all that afflicts you at this moment. You will see His salvation.

PRAYER Jesus Christ NEVER taught on what we call "unanswered prayer." James wrote that a divided loyalty between trusting the Lord God for life and at the same time relying on the world's systems to get what you want will result in you not getting anything from God you may have prayed about. God will never reinforce the unbelief that flows from divided loyalty. THAT is not unanswered prayer. That is God saying, "No." to your request. God saying, "No." to your requests is not unanswered prayer. It is His grace. His "No" is just what I would want if I knew what He knows. The Lord also answers with, "Not now; not yet." because we are not yet prepared to receive what we think we need. God works in us both to will and to do His good pleasure. If I am praying for something God wants to do in me and the Holy Spirit is working in me preparing me to receive what God has in store, His "Not yet." is NOT unanswered prayer. As we see...
HEBREWS 10:1-2, 10-18 "The sacrifices under that system ( the Old Covenant) were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship.   If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.   For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.  Under the Old Covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins.   But our High Priest offered Himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then He sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.   There He waits until His enemies are humbled and made a footstool under His feet.   For by that one offering He forever m...
From Oswald Chambers today: "If the Spirit of God detects anything in you that is wrong, He doesn’t ask you to make it right; He only asks you to accept the light of truth, and then He will make it right. A child of the light will confess sin instantly and stand completely open before God. But a child of the darkness will say, “Oh, I can explain that.” When the light shines and the Spirit brings conviction of sin, be a child of the light. Confess your wrongdoing, and God will deal with it. If, however, you try to vindicate yourself, you prove yourself to be a child of the darkness. What is the proof that carnality has gone? Never deceive yourself; when carnality is gone you will know it— it is the most real thing you can imagine. And God will see to it that you have a number of opportunities to prove to yourself the miracle of His grace. The proof is in a very practical test. You will find yourself saying, “If this had happened before, I would have had the spirit of resentment!”...
