 HIS SHEEP

In His Word, God calls us His sheep. Jesus Christ, Eternal God the Son, the Word of God made flesh, is our Good Shepherd.
That is true. And so, I can trust Him to lead me through life. The sheep don’t lead, they follow.
Trusting that God has both told us and shown us His Good News of rescue and salvation through Jesus Christ alone, we can follow. The real issue of faith is Who is the object of our believing, our faith? The strength of our faith is not in how we feel, but is grounded in the One who has called us by His grace to follow. It is Who we have put our trust in. Only God is worthy of your trust.
A disciple is a follower, a learner. Our Savior’s Life and wisdom are infinite. Thus, I am assured that He will teach me, transform me, and lead me by the Holy Spirit.
Always being a learner is a great freedom. It’s about Jesus Christ, Who He is and what He has done. I have Life because He is life within me. Adventure is before me!
He enables my humility, my obedience, my honesty before Him. He reveals Himself to me by His Word and by the Holy Spirit making that Word alive in me.
Think! The Holy Trinity is working in us His salvation with as much care as He demonstrated when He spoke into being all that exists!
We can hear His voice because He has given us ears to hear Him. We can see, remember and worship Him Who has united us with Himself. We must remember what He has done in history as well as what He has done in us.
Holy memory is not nostalgia, it is holy recall so that we can follow Him even when we don’t know where He might be leading.
Our hope and the ground of our faith is the Lord, Himself, and nothing else. Nothing else, no one else could ever save, but God alone through Jesus Christ.
Remember, reflect today on what God has done in you and the hope of living into His promise to finish in you the good work He has begun.

The truth is that we were created to know and live by the gracious rule of and in the Presence of God who created us. Our peace, our understanding of meaning and purpose can only be truly grounded in God who created us for that meaning and purpose.
